Professional Life
Catherine is a fund management professional with over 20 years’ experience in trading, risk management and compliance. She has held senior roles in several alternative start up asset managers. In all roles, Catherine was involved in the selection, onboarding and implementation of fund service providers, execution and trading systems, establishing governance frameworks and regulatory authorizations.
Catherine was formerly a Partner of Fund HQ, an outsourced and flexible platform product providing advisory and outsourced services for asset managers, particularly emerging and start up managers.
Catherine spent 8 years working for two businesses within Credit Suisse Asset Management. Catherine was COO and CRO of Aventicum Capital Management where she was responsible for all business and fund operations and risk across the EM credit business and was also a fund director. After Aventicum, Catherine became COO of Arini Credit Strategies, a long/short European credit strategy.Catherine joined Aventicum from Zaff Capital LP, a Houston based global EM private equity specialist, where she was Head of Risk and Chief Compliance Officer, responsible for all aspects of the risk management function and regulatory compliance.
Previously, Catherine was part of the original emerging markets team from the ANZ Bank, instrumental in the successful start-up of Ashmore Group, the leading EM Investment Manager. During her 10 years at Ashmore, she served as Head of Risk Management and Control, as well as a Portfolio Manager launching and managing a $2b AAA rated Money Market Fund and running the $2b repo book.
Catherine began her career at the ANZ Bank in various trading roles in derivatives, FX and money markets before joining the EM trading team.
